According to witnesses, the vehicle, which belongs to the college, was overturned by a group of students who then also set fire to the car.

Two students have been arrested at the MTC campus of Majuba College in Madadeni, Section 2 after a car was set on fire shortly after 2pm this afternoon.

According to witnesses, the vehicle, which belongs to the college, was overturned by a group of students who then also set fire to the car.

Security guards on site identified two suspects who were then arrested by Madadeni police.

It is believed the students are still unhappy about issues surrounding bursaries and accommodation. However, this cannot be confirmed at this stage.

A full statement from the college rector regarding this incident is forthcoming.
