DESPITE repeated requests to the public about refuse removal and illegal dumping this bad habit continues. We are very grateful that some residents are starting to report culprits which is helping, but it seems that the municipality will have no choice but to to implement the new policy and start handing out fines. Just a reminder that the fine for this offence is R2000.
The issue of the Municipal Manager remains unresolved but should be finalized by the time you read this article. On October 14 the court will finally decide (we hope) on the fate of Dr Mthembu.
The armed robbery at the municipality on Friday morning fortunately did not result in injury to any of our staff.
The DA would also like to thank the staff who during the strike kept on working to serve the public. On behalf of the municipality the DA also wishes to apologize to the public for the inconvenience caused as result of the strike.
Tonight, Thursday, at 5:50pm, there will be a public meeting for the residents of Wards 8 & 9 in the Library Hall.
