ON NOVEMBER 20, Abundant Life Church International hosted their annual ‘Women Ablaze’ conference in Vryheid.
It started with an invigorating word from Pastor MM Derby: “Don’t let the fire die.” The following day they were graced by the life changing presence of Pastor Khunjulwa Phaliso, who reminded the women not to lose their identity as the ones that have the power to make or break who they are.
Women have a role to play in society and need not see themselves as less important than their male counterparts, but should rather join up as partners with them in turning Vryheid back to God, as the only solution to a community afflicted by loss, pain, hurt and social challenges
On Saturday, November 22, women and men took to the streets of Vryheid to proclaim the name of God in a walk of faith. During this event, prayers were said at strategic locations for the needs of the town and to wage war against the ultimate enemy, Lucifer. The day ended on a high note when women and men dressed up to attend a glamorous gala event, themed ‘One night with the King.’
Women and men were steered through the implacable life of Ester, who was granted an opportunity to move from an ordinary life to a royal life because God had a plan for the nation.
Sunday was concluded by a service of celebration. Bishop BO Bobbie graced the church with the word.
Women and men have a place in the turnaround strategy of this country to see the elimination of family challenges, such as the abuse of women and children, teenage pregnancies, domestic crimes and crime.
The message was clear: “We will not be able to do it without God.”
