Foundation brings Women’s Day joy to Dundee hospital patients
The Bongani Maphisa Mlambo Foundation celebrated Women’s Day by delivering 60 gifts and plenty of smiles to patients at Dundee Provincial Hospital.
Women’s Day brought smiles and celebration to female patients at Dundee Provincial Hospital when the Bongani Maphisa Mlambo Foundation delivered 60 gifts to the hospital.
Founded in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic, the foundation marked Women’s Day by supporting women spending the special day in hospital.
A celebration in the wards
Founder Bongani Maphisa, affectionately known as “Man B”, joined foundation members in visiting the hospital’s female and maternity wards last Monday.
They handed over 60 gifts to patients, creating an atmosphere of smiles, singing and joy as the women welcomed the thoughtful gesture.
For the foundation, the visit was a meaningful way to recognise and celebrate women, particularly those unable to spend Women’s Day with their families and loved ones.
Supporting the community
The Bongani Maphisa Mlambo Foundation is a non-profit organisation supporting various organisations and community initiatives across the Endumeni District.
The foundation relies on donations and support from local businesses and organisations to continue its work in the community.
The foundation expressed its sincere gratitude to Charlie’s SuperSPAR for its sponsorship, initiative and commitment to making the Women’s Day celebration possible.
The support helped bring happiness to patients at Dundee Provincial Hospital and highlighted the positive impact that can be made when local businesses, organisations and community members work together.
