Majuba TVET College guides youth

“We are ready to give you what you need to start a successful life, bursaries and the choice to study, but you have to do it yourself.”

The development of the youth is a task that Majuba TVET College is honoured to be a part of.

This was the message the college gave to attendees of the college’s Career Day held last week at Majuba Sports Stadium in Madadeni.

Hundreds of potential students packed the tents as council and management members advised them on how to take their lives forward.

“You are the masters of your faith now. You have to direct yourself. Look at what you like, look at what the world needs and decide what career you want to take, and we will provide it for you,” said Rector, Sanele Mlotshwa.

Touching on the issues regarding student strikes and damage to property, Mr Mlotshwa believed at the end of the day, the students who chose to party, strike and not appreciate benefits given to them through the college would find themselves at a loss.

“We are ready to give you what you need to start a successful life, bursaries and the choice to study, but you have to do it yourself.”

Other speakers voiced their concerns and advice on the platform, but Mr Mhlothwa’s words were the ones that struck home.

Marketing manager of Majuba TVET College, Nashveer Namesar explained, “Some of the pupils who attended the event may attend other colleges and universities, but we hope to have influenced some of their lives in the right direction, and will be happy to see them on our campus next year.”
