Glencoe Primary hosts Dannhauser

It is with pride that Glencoe Primary shows their special athletes that stood out amongst the rest during the first term’s athletics. Congratulations to the following pupils: Junior Victrix Ludorum – Alwande Ngogoma; Junior Victor Ludorum – Jarren Theron; Senior Victrix Ludorum – Celestine Jackson; and Senior Victor Ludorum – Samkelo Buthelezi.
Rugby
Glencoe Primary played matches against Dannhauser Primary and they are grateful for the opportunity. The u/11 played their first match and the boys took time to settle their nerves. Mr Swanepoel calmed them down and they managed to win the match with 7 – 0. Asande Kunene scored their try and it was converted by Aphiwe Langa.
Mr Biyela’s first team boys were now well oiled. During the week they visited Sarel Cilliers and the High school boys pulled them in after their Kearsney match. This motivated the boys and gave them belief in themselves. They corrected their structures during their match against Dannhauser and improved a lot with their scrums. Excellent defence stopped Dannhauser from scoring a single point. Up front it was Sinakokonke Zulu who stood out and at the back it was Samukelo Buthelezi. The final score was 53 – 0.
Appreciation function
On March 19, Glencoe Primary took time to say thank you to their helpful parents, educators and sponsors. They enjoyed a wonderful evening as colleagues and friends with a very good meal. A thank you must go to all that were involved with the preparations for the evening. The message of the function was that it does not matter who or what you are but the world may be a little better because you were important in the life of a child. Glencoe Primary looks forward to the rest of the year where they will walk hand-in-hand with the community.
