Dumping remains a concern for Endumeni Council
It was also mentioned that extension 18, adjacent to the airfield, and parts of Wasbank are targeted as 'dumping sites'.

Councillor Lungile Mbhele is not happy with the way the cleaning operation of the Sithembile location is taking place, She said at the last Council meeting that people are still dumping despite ongoing clean-ups and campaigns to ‘clean-up your town’.
It was also mentioned that extension 18, adjacent to the airfield, and parts of Wasbank are targeted as ‘dumping sites’. It was also said that a new tractor, bought by the municipality, was not used in extension 18 as the excessive dumping had previously damaged the tractor tyres. Speaker S’duduzo Mdluli said the machine would have to work and it was ‘useless to keep it shiny and new while the town is dirty’.
Craigside to be renamed
The Craigside settlement, below Talana Museum, is in for a name change. Mayor, Thulani Mahaye, said suggestions would be called for.
Council cash flow improves
Finance Manager, Bonga Mkhize, told the Council that the cash flow for the municipality is improving. The council will embark on strategic planning but Speaker Mdluli warned that ‘accommodation costs must be kept and luxury stays are a thing of the past’.
It was heard that the Health Department owes Endumeni around R2-million from the handover of clinics to the Department. Speaker Mdluli said the money cannot be simply written off and that the Department be contacted regarding the debt.
