On Saturday, May 9, Dundee High School travelled to Ladysmith to play against LHS. LHS is a big school and a tough opponent, but DHS’ teams performed to the best of their ability and made the school proud. The results were as follows:
Rugby: The under 14s won 26-5; the under 15s lost 7-10 and the under 16s also lost 13-14 after a very tight match. The DHS’ second team pulled a victory of 10-8 and, unfortunately, the first team had an unsuccessful day, losing 7-39.
The first Rugby team and coach would like to say a special thank you to Cronjè Stadler of Microsure for their generous sponsorship and support.
Netball: Under 14A won 11-9; under 15A lost 5-13; under 16A lost 16-21; under 16B won 12-4; the second team drew 12-12 and the first team lost 10-11.
Boys’ Hockey: The second team unfortunately lost 1-2 but the first team played a tough match and drew 0-0.
Girls’ Hockey: The girls had a very successful day, with the under 14s winning 2-1; the under 16As winning 4-0 and the first team winning 2-0. The under 16Bs unfortunately lost their match 1-0 and the second team drew 0-0.
Well done to each and every player that contributed to the strength of their team; winning isn’t everything; it’s how you play the game.
DHS looks forward to their next upcoming round of games against Vryheid High School on home turf.
