On Friday, May 22, Ichthus learners, together with their parents and teachers, left for Durban to participate in the KZNCSSA winter sports tournament at Victory Christian Academy in Umhlanga.
The school represented northern natal and played against schools from Durban Central, Durban North and Durban South and Northern Coastal.
Ichthus is very proud of their teams who participated in eight different sport codes, namely: cross country, hockey, netball, soccer, rugby, volleyball, rugby kicking and netball shooting, with results as follows:
Soccer: U/13 Boys – Silver.U/11 Girls – Gold. U/13 Girls – Silver.
Hockey: U/11 Boys – Gold. U/11 Girls – Gold. U/13 Boys – Gold. U/13 Girls (A team) – Gold, U/13 Girls (B team) – Silver.
Volleyball: U/13 Boys – Gold. U/13 Girls – Gold. Touch Rugby: U/13 Boys – Gold. Netball: U/13 Girls – Gold. Rugby Kicking: first – Andrew Tiley
Netball Shooting: first – Sisanda Mtombeni, second Tiana Maritz.
The U/13 Netball team won gold for the first time in 14 years. Well done girls!
The school is anxiously awaiting the results of which players have been selected to receive their KZNCSSA colours for the various sport codes.
