St Oswald’s Secondary School recently hosted a Spelling Bee competition.
Rising to the challenge, five Grade 8 pupils from Lincoln Heights competed against five Grade 8 pupils from St Oswald’s.
The ten pupils flaunted their remarkable spelling skills and memory during the one-hour spelling session.
All the pupils displayed outstanding knowledge, and Sha-Lee-Sha Mansen from St Oswald’s was crowned the champ of the day.
Mrs R Singh, co-ordinator of the competition, thanked the pupils for their participation and extended a further thanks to Lincoln Heights for joining.
St Oswald’s Secondary School is hoping to make the Spelling Bee competition an annual event as a way of encouraging better spelling in written English.
