Vryheid High School – Making a difference in the community

ON Thursday, May 21, the ‘Interact’ club of VHS visited the old-age home as part of a project directed by ‘Bonisonani.’

Bonisonani is a religious/cultural youth program which is broadcast on SABC 1 at 6:30am every Sunday morning. The point of this show is to showcase stories of the youth getting involved in their societies by doing kind deeds for others. A show and some eats were presented to the residents of Jubileum Home and the group told them about their aims and past achievements. They were accompanied by Ms E Craffert who organised and supervised the event. Thank you to Interact who are living one of VHS’ mottoes: “In the Community – For the Community.”

VHS is nearing the end of the winter sport league with only one fixture left to be played. On Saturday, May 23, we played against Sarel Cilliers High School. It seems that the netball teams are now reaching the point where they are playing well together as they won all their matches. Congratulations! The hockey teams are also playing very good hockey.
