Estcourt Christian Centre‘s Royal Ambassadors had plenty to celebrate on Saturday. The second Coronation Service for the Royal Ambassadors was held at the church in the afternoon where the boys displayed what they had learnt during the past year.

Being a Royal Ambassador means being an ambassador for Christ and a group of young boys and men are taken under the wing of the Royal Ambassadors counsellors and they are taught to live exactly this. The boys and their counsellors meet every Saturday at 2pm.

Here they play sports, study the Bible and learn from each other. Since beginning the Royal Ambassadors course last year, the boys are said to have made great strides and on Saturday, they earned certificates and badges and went through to the second stage.

In order to progress to the second stage, the boys had to perform various tasks like going out in a group and learning the life history of their Pastor. At the Coronation Service, their counsellors spoke highly of the boys’ development and this was evident when the Royal Ambassadors were called on to recite their Commission and Declaration as well as Bible verses.

Pastor Dermott was the guest speaker and spoke on the importance of prayer. He recited several stories to demonstrate how the power of prayer can heal, saying that prayer is talking to God, so pray from your heart.

The event concluded with the Royal Ambassadors receiving their certificates and badges before everyone enjoyed a scrumptious tea.
