Bev  Garner took the impressive chain of office  from Brits Maree when she was inducted as the Rotary Club President on Saturday.
With the theme ‘Be a gift to the world’, Bev implored her fellow Rotarians to continue and improve on the benchmark of  community service set by the Dundee Club since it was founded 62 years ago.
The induction dinner was especially memorable for two dedicated Rotarians, Evan Jones and Jenny Thole, who both received the highest accolade in Rotary, the Paul Harris award.  Evan has done sterling work to source books for rural schools , going as far as the Uk to get the books donated.
Bev lauded Jenny for her overall dedication to Rotary.
The dinner was also memorable for German exchange student, Louise Koch, who is returning home after a year in Dundee.
“What a stunning year I have had here…. I really don’t want the go home,”, she said.  In his speech, outgoing President Brits paid tribute to the club for all their hard work and supporting the many projects initiated by the club.
With a growing membership and under Bev’s guidance, the Dundee Rotary Club will continue being a gift for the community.
