Case postponed for the last time
The hearing of the two suspects accused of murdering prominent Chinese businessman, Xiaoming ‘Steven’ Zhang was once again postponed last week.

The hearing of the two suspects accused of murdering prominent Chinese businessman, Xiaoming ‘Steven’ Zhang was once again postponed last week.
This occurred because one of the accused wanted to brief a new lawyer.
Last week Thursday, the two men appeared at the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court in front of a packed courthouse.
Most of the Chinese and Taiwanese business community were present, hoping their pleas for bail to be denied would be allowed.
However, only one of the accused arrived at court with legal representation.
The second accused had, after consultation with his family members, decided not to make use of his co-accused’s attorney, but rather source his own.
This necessitated postponement to provisionally June 26.
This date will also be the final court date for the accused to apply for bail and should the accused’s legal representation not be present at the next hearing, the accused would be remanded in custody pending the trial.
