Dean Korb trial set for November

Family of Dean Korb believe justice in South Africa caters to the accused.

Despondent father, Paul expressed his upset at reports that the trial date had been set for November this year, stretching the case out beyond two years.

“We are not happy, but there is nothing we can do.”

It is believed the delay in the trial hearing was due to legal representation of accused, Eddie van Niekerk, being unavailable until later this year.

Mr Korb said as family of the victim, they were given no say in the matter.

“Victims of crime in South Africa aren’t catered for.”

No further explanations or comments on the case were given by the Communications Office of the Newcastle SAPS.

The only response confirmed a court date of November 23.
