Pirates on the shelf

Members of Newcastle SAPS joined the provincial task team to investigate whether any illegal trading was taking place at the hawker shelter on Scott Street

Members of Newcastle SAPS joined the provincial task team to investigate whether any illegal trading was taking place at the hawker shelter on Scott Street on Friday, July 3.

The operation aimed to verify or refute the authenticity of goods sold by the street vendors. Police spokesperson, Captain Shooz Magudulela reiterated the need for the public to get involved in the fight against the sale of counterfeit goods,

“By buying from these people, you are indirectly supporting illegal trading. Rather buy from places you are sure are selling you authentic goods,” he said.
