Brutal farm attack near Vrede
Unconfirmed reports from sources stated Johannes and Rita Kritzinger were attacked in their home by two gunmen, who were lying in wait.
An elderly couple were attacked and shot in a farm attack on Sunday.
Unconfirmed reports from sources stated Johannes and Rita Kritzinger were attacked in their home by two gunmen, who were lying in wait.
The Kritzingers reside on a farm between Vrede and Verkykerskop.
Despite being shot multiple times, Mr Kritzinger reached the panic button and managed to scare the gunmen off.
His wife had also been shot.
The couple were rushed to an East Rand hospital for urgent treatment and are believed to both be in a serious condition.
Memel SAPS reportedly have a suspect in custody.
A manhunt has been launched to find a second suspect, Paulus Sithebe, while relatives of the Kritzinger couple have asked not to be contacted during this time.
