THIS week we write about the High Street bridge.

First of all we need to let our public know that this bridge is a provincial project and is being built at no cost to our rate payers.

The municipality had no say about anything that went on there until recently after things started going wrong.

The problem started when some sub-contractors were not paid. Furthermore our engineer condemned some of the work which had to be redone.

The problem now is a dispute about payment.

The municipality have had several meetings with all concerned to come to an agreement, and hopefully a solution will be found soon.

The municipality is very anxious to get the bridge finished asap because it will help a lot with the traffic problems coming with the rehabilitation of Utrecht Street.
