Making Mandela Day memorable

Mandela Day is a call for action to every person to spare at least 67 minutes; in recognition of the years Madiba dedicated his life to fight for democracy and freedom, to help others

July 18 each year signifies a special day. Not only is it the birthdate of former President Nelson Mandela, but also marks Mandela Day, which was launched by the United Nations General Assembly.

Mandela Day is a call for action to every person to spare at least 67 minutes; in recognition of the years Madiba dedicated his life to fight for democracy and freedom, to help others.

People from all walks of life are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and assist within the communities they live. Locals have been admirable supporting Mandela Day over the years with various acts of kindness and these include hospital visits, revamps of schools and feeding schemes.
