In counting their own blessings, Siephan Atterbury and the Avalon Guest Manor team identified the need of residents of Nil Desperandum.

Mrs Atterbury said the idea came about in reflection of the business’s success.

“We felt because we have prospered, we have to give back to the less fortunate.”

The Avalon team visited Nil Desperandum on Friday morning, just minutes after donations from Rotary and Premier Foods were unloaded.

Residents enjoyed fresh cake and received blankets.

“We came here to celebrate the lives of the residents and that of Nelson Mandela.”

Eleanor van der Westhuizen of Nil Desperandum, expressed gratitude toward Mrs Atterbury and the Avalon team for their beautiful and kind donations.

“It was an amazing day and we are truly grateful for all the donations.”
