THE FIRST team cricket boys had a busy week playing a total of six matches in five days.
The first match was played against Pionier which VHS won by five wickets. The following day was the Zululand Development team which VHS beat by 150 runs. The boys travelled to Pongola on Friday to play in the annual festival.
Results: VHS beat Dundee by 140 runs: M Dedekind 78 runs; VHS beat Felixton by 59 runs: M Machado 68 runs; VHS beat Grantleigh by 64 runs: K Meier 65 runs; VHS beat Landbou by 189 runs: I Niebuhr 105 runs and J van Wyk 56 runs. VHS wins the Pongola festival staying unbeaten. Well done, boys. Keep it up!
VHS had a most enjoyable day of tennis on Friday, August 14, against Ladysmith High School. Matches were tough. Three tiebreakers were played, which VHS won. VHS beat Ladysmith 10 – 6.

Vryheid High held our winter sport dance this past weekend. We would like to thank all the people who supported our evening. We hope you all had a ball. We will most certainly make it an annual event. A special thanks to Carl Davel, Renate Filter and Steven Hibbert for making the evening possible.
