Ballerinas take center stage

From August 31 to September 3, Lizette Mattheus from the Dance Academy of South Africa, examined dancers for Studio Ballet examinations and Medal Dances in Newcastle, Dundee and Volksrust.

The Medal Dances took place at Tugela High School hall where dancers had the opportunity to perform their solos in front of an audience and were awarded their medals by Mrs Mattheus.

Parents thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of watching their children dance on stage and greatly appreciated the hospitality of Tugela High School.

Four dancers from Jenny Devenish School of Ballet did their grade examinations and the results are as follows:

Grade 2: Aldert Brink, Merit

Grade 4: Megan Morgenrood, Merit, Jade Pienaar, Distinction, Abigail van Niekerk, Distinction.
