Truck trailer overturns, loses load
2 cows were injured and will have to be put down due to the severity of their injuries
A truck carrying a load of lumber (wood) was involved in an accident along the Colenso / Pieters road this morning. The trailer overturned after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
The lumber fell off the trailer and was flung all over 1 lane of the road, and also down a steep embankment. The wood crashed through the roadside barrier and also fell onto cows that were on a farmer’s property.
2 cows were injured and will have to be put down due to the severity of their injuries. None of the occupants in the truck were injured in the crash.
Towing services responded to the scene to haul the truck away.
Last night, there was another accident on the Colenso /Pieters road, in which the life of a motorist was tragically lost.
