A bone to pick

Times are very tough and for some people finding any form of food is better than nothing

IT IS UNCLEAR whether these bones found on the side of the road headed to Paulpietersburg near Bhekuzulu Ext. 16 were dumped by the residents or workers from the nearby slaughterhouse.
The bones which seem to have been dumped sometime last week are causing a very horrible stench around the area and pose a major health hazard.
According to a resident who refused to be named, some of the people living in Sasko have upon some occasions taken to fetching these discarded bones with wheelbarrows and buckets for their consumption.
“Times are very tough and for some people finding any form of food is better than nothing,” said this resident.
It appears that the people who fetch these bones know the days on which they are discarded as they get there before they are burned (which is done to avoid the said health hazards).
