Prepare for freakishly hot week

With daily temperatures in the late 30s to early 40s, it is going to be hot as hell

It is going to be a long, hot week with little to no respite from the heat. Sweltering temperatures nearing 40° Celsius are predicted throughout the province this week, with Ladysmith expected to be the epicentre of the heatwave.

Yesterday’s blisteringly hot temperatures are expected to continue throughout the week as a heat wave passes over KwaZulu-Natal.

South African Weather Services confirm high temperatures which are not unusual for this time of the year.

While other parts of the province can expect it to to start cooling down a little, Ladysmith will have no break from the rising temperatures. Without any rain expected for those areas today or tomorrow, temperatures are expected to peak at nearly 40°.

This while we are experiencing the worst drought in 37 years and parts of town are being water-shed, with water being cut from 10am to 4pm during the day and 8pm to 4am at night.
