Water supply for only 4 hours today!
uThukela has confirmed it only has enough water to supply affected areas with 4 hours of water today
Residents living in Observation Hill and other suburbs are without water. Observation Hill and other areas were left to battle without water from yesterday evening.
Most residents are confused as to when and why the water will be on or off…
It is clear that uThukela cannot keep to any schedule, as they battle electricity outages and other erratic supply problems. uThukela has confirmed it only has enough water to supply affected areas with 4 hours of water today.
The problem is that when they start pumping, low-lying areas get 4 hours of water. However, Observation Hill, because of its distance down the supply line, will only have an hour of water.
Also, SMSs sent out by uThukela are not always reaching residents.
We will try and let residents know when the water comes on. We also rely on uThukela for information.
