The Battlefields Carnival is taking shape – in more ways than one
It is happening: the countdown is on to the Battlefields Carnival due to start on Friday and go through to Saturday night
The Battlefields Carnival, due to get underway this Friday, in Dundee is going to rock the town in a way seldom seen.
The organisers have pulled out all the stops to ensure that this unique event combines art, culture, music and fun into one smorgasbord of entertainment.

With venues at the Royal Country Inn (where the jazz evenings will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings), the Oval (where there will be a live music show) and the town gardens where readings will be done, the Carnival will also feature a float parade.
Step-in artist with a mission, Mandla Mdluli, who has worked on projects for other big events including major sports events. He has enlisted several local ladies and taught them to cut foam and bend wire into something exciting.
The float is taking shape behind the Royal Country Inn. This is bound to be an event not to miss. For details contact Tourism Dundee 034 21 22121.
