Drought situation stays the same, despite rain

Recent rain in the catchment area hasn’t changed the water crisis Ladysmith is currently facing.

Water still cannot be pumped out of the Klip River due to the low water levels.

uThukela’s pumping schedule will stay the same.

It is going to take a lot of heavy rain in the catchment area to lift the level of the Klip River.

The community is urged to continue using water sparingly, and to save water where they can.
