Yesterday’s rainfall a drop in the ocean compared to drought

Still a long, hot day with little relief

Despite the rain yesterday, there will be no easing of water restrictions. “It takes about seven days for rain that falls in our catchment area to affect the river here,” say officials. However, there is some good news, as water will be pumped from 2pm to 8pm today as a way of making up for yesterday’s pumping delays caused by an Eskom power failure.
