A lesson in water safety at MLS

Learners were warned not to push their friends into the deep end as it could lead to injury

On Monday, November 9, representatives from the Department of Sport and Recreation addressed learners at ML Sultan Estcourt Primary about water safety when they visit the pool, beach or river.

Phumla Ngcobo motivated learners to observe the rules at the various venues and also stressed the importance of obeying the life guards.

Learners were warned not to push their friends into the deep end as it could lead to injury.

Children should not hold their friends head under water as it takes less than three minutes to cause brain damage.

The team wished our learners well over the summer vacation. The school wishes to thank the team for their informative lesson in water safety.
