Garden club visits ‘Proud School’

The aims of the Proud Schools Project is to instil a culture of pride in the schools, our Valley and our country

Members of the Cathkin Park/Winterton Garden Club paid a visit to Siphiwesamangwe Primary School, one of the Proud Schools in the area on the Injisuthi Road.

They donated plants, shrubs, trees, compost and each took along two litre containers of water. The Proud Schools Project is a project initiated by the Drakensberg Experience Committee and is funded by the N3TC.

Dolly Warburton is the facilitator and Ann Gray is the mediator between the Drakensberg Experience Committee and the Proud Schools Project. The aims of the Proud Schools Project is to instil a culture of pride in the schools, our Valley and our country and to welcome tourists.

A clean environment, recycling, saving water etc. Various hotels, schools and organisations are also now involved in the project.
