K9 Unit has new bite

The duo make a formidable team and are eager to fight crime and serve the community

The Ladysmith K9 Unit is proud to receive their latest arrivals.

Constable ST Nkabinde and his crime-fighting partner, Ceazar, have just arrived at the unit. They have spent the last four months together at the Roodeplaat Training Academy in Pretoria.

Const Nkabinde is a local lad with seven years’ service. He began his career at Besters police, where he spent two years. He then joined the K9 Highway Patrol, where he served until he left for his training earlier this year.

His patrol dog partner, Ceazer, is a two-year-old Rottweiler.

The duo make a formidable team and are eager to fight crime and serve the community. Const Nkabinde found the course challenging but enjoyable. He would like to thank his family and his commander, Captain Hlongwane from the Ladysmith K9 Unit, for the support they gave him during his training.
