Suspected cable thief charged

The man was charged with possession of suspected stolen property and appeared before the Estcourt Magistrates Court on Friday

Ntabamhlophe police arrested a man who was in possession of cable on Friday, November 27.

The officers received a tip-off that he was carrying electrical cable and was seen walking along Ntabamhlophe main road.

“Policing members rushed to the roadway where the man was located.

He was unable to account for the items in his possession and was placed under arrest,” commented police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig.

The man was charged with possession of suspected stolen property and appeared before the Estcourt Magistrates Court on Friday.

“Police are busy with investigations into the origin of the copper cables,” added Captain Struwig.
