Cars trapped in flash floods

According Marinus Nabel of IPSS Medical Response, five cars were trapped in the Ladysmith area on Thursday evening in flash floods after a sudden downpour.
IPSS spokesperson Marinus Nabel said, “There was a flash flood due to the rain. Unfortunately, some cars got caught under bridges in the low-lying areas.”
Just after 6pm, all emergency rescue services were alerted. On arrival at the various scenes, they noted that members of the public had already assisted with the “entrapments”.
Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported.
All emergency services will remain on high alert if and when another storm should arise.
It is unclear at this stage where the “entrapments” occurred.
Between 4.30pm and 6pm, over 100mm of rain was recorded.
