DON’T MISS IT: Race glows in the dark

Racing will go 'bump' in the night next Tuesday, from Grey Goose Farm Lodge.

If you see glowing shapes on Tuesday night, don’t be frightened.

It could just be local mountain bike and trail riders competing in the first ever night race, setting off from Grey Goose Farm Lodge next Tuesday (December 15).

The MTB relay takes place on a three kilometre circuit.

However, navigating the terrain might pose a challenge to cyclists, considering the course is marked with luminescent life-paint and glow sticks alone.

Spectators should be able to witness the entire race unfold.

The MTB event is a two-hour event, open to either solo cyclists of teams of two or three people, the recommended number by organisers.

Organiser, Chris van der Linde said the focus of the event was fun.

“When between laps, you can refresh with food and drinks from the local restaurant. The team which completes the most laps in two hours, however, is the winner.”

Set to feature fun riding events, music, food and drink, children’s entertainment and more, this is one you don’t want to miss out on.
