Girl (5) dies in two-vehicle collision

A girl believed to be about five years old died and three others were injured last night in a collision between two vehicles on the N11 about 40 kilometres outside Ladysmith heading towards Newcastle.

“A woman who was an occupant of the same vehicle was found outside on the side of the road. She was assessed by paramedics and found to have sustained moderate injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a truck, sustained minor injuries.

The drivers of both vehicles and the woman were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care. The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene to investigate further. “
