A total of 448 schools participated in the GET Awards, which is organised by the Department of Education: Uthukela District. Learners from various schools are selected to write the examination and once papers are marked, the schools are informed. A grand function was held on November 27 in Ladysmith to honour not only the awardees but also the Educators and their schools.

ML Sultan Estcourt is proud to announce that Thembelihle Khumalo from grade 7M took first position for EMS. Her educator Ms LL Mahlamba also received an award.

Asanda Dlamini of grade six also captured position one for Isizulu (FAL) and Ms NP Hlophe also received an award. The learners were excited to receive the Old Mutual Floating Trophy, a medal and a certificate.

The Principal, Mr DH Zuma was elated to receive shield when ML Sultan took position three for the Overall Winning School in the Intermediate Phase. He wished to thank the staff, members of the School Governing Body, parents and learners for all their efforts.
