Rain in the middle of a heat-wave?
After an exhaustingly hot start to the day, the heavens opened and we had quite a good shower in town
Since December, we have been in a heat-wave, with a bit of rain every now and then to just wet the ground. We were the hottest town in the country a few times this festive season!
Yesterday (Thursday), after an exhaustingly hot start to the day, the heavens opened and we had quite a good shower in town. The Acaciavale area, however, only had light rain. This is very unusual in the middle of a heat-wave and while it was enjoyable and it cooled the town off a bit, it was not enough to end our water restrictions.
The heat has not retuned as yet and rain looks like it might be close, but we need rain in the catchment area in order to get everything back to normal. When it rains there, it will take a few days for our water situation to ease up.
