Vryheid High School – Class of 2015 excels

THERE were 154 matriculants – 90% (85,7) pass rate which means that 16 learners have not met the requirements.

A total of 157 (128) subject distinctions were obtained with the following subjects achieving an average of 60% or more: ENGFAL, AFRFAL, AFRHL, ZULFAL, HOSP, GRDS, GRMSA, TRSM and LIFE. 65% (57) of the learners passed with the necessary requirement for admission to a Bachelor’s Degree.

Our Dux student for 2015 is Lukhona Mpungose. His 7 A’s: ENGHL 86%, AFRFAL 91%, MATH 92%, LIFE 94%, ACCN 93%, LFSC 89% and PHSC 90% placed him second in the Zululand District, a mere 2 marks out of 700 above T Tschirpig. She, with C Nel and B Westermeyer, also obtained 7 A’s. K Bissett and J de Beer obtained 6 A’s, K Boock, A Kohlmeyer, S Mthethwa and S Nichols 5A’s, S Khan, Y Mpungose and S Joubert 4A’s, H Meyer, Z Ndlela, M Scholts, I Sujee, T von Beneke, D Wood and W Zulu, with 3A’s, were the other top achievers.

Educators with a 100% pass rate in one or more of their subjects were: Mr Van den Heever, Mrs Struwig, Mrs Mentz, Miss Magwaza, Miss Mbatha, Miss H Venter, Mr Van Den Berg, Miss Hayward, Mrs Klynsmith, Mrs M Le Roux, Mrs Schoeman, Mrs Puttkammer, Miss Nel, Mrs Coetzee, Mr van Wyk, Mr Scholtz, Mrs Nieuwenhuizen, Mrs Meyer, Miss van Tonder and Mrs Feather.

Out of the 20 top achievers for Zululand, six are learners from Vryheid High. We are very proud of these learners!
