Our golfing dynamo, Louis Albertse, narrowly missed out on SA Open qualification

Over the past three weeks Dundee Country Club was fortunate to see a large number of golfers utilising the course, not only by members but also by a few keen golfers visiting Dundee.
The Club congratulates Louis Albertse (Jnr), Dundee’s own pro in the making, for shooting an excellent five under par round at Kempton C.C. in an attempt to qualify for the prestigious BMW S.A. Open Championship, only to miss out on this event by losing in a sudden death play-off. Great effort Louis, D.C.C. is really proud to have you as a member of the Club.
Saturday, January 2: 32 members competed for the Monthly Mug, with Marc Nero coming out tops in the A Division with a net 68. Marc also won the prize for the best gross score of the day shooting a 76.

The B Division Mug was won by Willie Maritz, also with net 68. Natasha Du Plessis carded a career-best 80 to walk away with the Ladies B Division Mug with a net 64. Maressa Ackerman won the Ladies C Division Mug on a net 68. There were only three players who managed to card a 2 Club, and they were N. Du Plessis, D. Scholtz and G. Robson.
Friday, January, 8 saw twelve golfers entering for the 11 Hole Meat Competition which was won by Willie Maritz on 25 points, followed by Tim Catlett on 24 points.
Saturday, January 9: the club competition was played in the 4 BBBS format with 35 players taking part. Marc Nero was once again in the winners enclosure when pairing up with Gene Robson to score 46 points. Second with 43 points were S. Sithole and C. Mkhwanazi, and finishing in third place was the pairing of Henk Booysen and Carel Vermuelen on 42 points. The following players all managed to card a 2 Club on the day; L. Slabbert, M. Ackerman, S. Kunene, W. Du Plessis and J. Engelbrecht.

One of the clubs main golfing events takes place in two weeks time, when Dundee plays host to The Northern KZN Open over 36 holes on Sunday, January 24, this event is proudly sponsored by Farmers Agri-Care, and players are requested to get their entries in timeously.
This coming weekend’s fixtures; Friday 11 Hole Meat Competition and Saturday’s club competition will be Individual Bonus Bogey.
