KZN Education Department say it is ‘ready, steady, go’ for back to school
School admissions for 2016 ran smoothly and parents registered on time - although in Dundee parents will still seen desperately trying to find place for their children.
The Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal is combat ready for the opening of schools tomorrow.
“Before the end of the 2015 academic year, the Department was ready and had put everything in place to ensure that the first day of school in 2016 is without problems,” said spokesman, Muzi Mahlambi
School admissions for 2016 ran smoothly and parents registered on time – although in Dundee parents will still seen desperately trying to find place for their children.
“In 2015, as in other years, the Department communicated to the public that District Managers are at the forefront of dealing with all enquiries pertaining to admissions, and that is still the case in 2016. The school admission enquiries that the Department is mainly dealing with as 2016 begins, are those enquiries that pertain to parents who have relocated and those have been transferred (career related) from one place to another.
“All Learner Teacher Support Material (LTSM) were delivered to schools by the end of 2015. All schools that have encountered any problems regarding delivery of LTSM should direct their enquiries to their districts LTSM section and the Department will deal with those issues before Friday,” said Mr Mahlambi
“We urge all schools in the Province to ensure that teaching and learning takes place on the first minute of the 2016 academic year,” said MEC Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni.
