Welcome donation for animal shelter
Tamara decided to raise much-needed funds for the shelter because since it was privatised last year, not many people are aware of its existence
Tamara Sturgess, owner of Tam’s Treasures, decided during the festive season to donate R10 from every Tam’s Colour Changing Mugs order.
On Thursday, January 7 Tamara handed over R500 to Dave Mcfie from the Estcourt Animal Shelter.
Tamara decided to raise much-needed funds for the shelter because since it was privatised last year, not many people are aware of its existence.
Tamara would like to thank everyone who ordered mugs and helped her raise funds of the shelter. The Estcourt Animal Shelter is a community-based animal welfare centre, which started early in September last year.
The Non Profit Organisation (NPO) is funded by donations from the public and private sector. The committee members have successfully launched the Estcourt Animal Shelter, which is based in Kemps Road at the old Estcourt and District SPCA premises.
The shelter depends solely on fundraising drives and the generosity of the public, to keep the shelter financially operational. Residents who would like to find out more about the Estcourt Animal Shelter, are looking for a pet or ways to support the shelter can contact Dave McFie on 082 905 4786.
