Grade 6 pupils focus on core skills

St Dominic’s Academy Grade 6 pupils recently completed their IEB Core Skills Test.

This is a non-curriculum based assessment, which focuses on the application of skills and knowledge which a Grade 6 pupil should have developed over their period of time in school.

Questions are set to challenge and stimulate pupils, focusing mainly on English and Mathematics.

The following St Dominic’s pupils achieved a commendable and outstanding level in the test:

Silver Outstanding Certificates – Muhammad Allana, Naadirah Goga, Aran Hsu and Paula van Zyl.

Bronze Outstanding Certificates – Alwandiswa Gumbi, Zinyaswa Kunene, Bavik Lalthaparsadh, Reboana Mosadi, Akhona Mtshali, Zahra Paruk and Simba Rioga.

Absent – Riley Bach.
