The Vryheid High School (VHS) girls’ soccer team ended their 2026 season on a high note after an impressive performance in the final stages of the competition.

On October 10, the girls faced Estcourt in a thrilling semi-final match, securing a 3-2 victory and earning their well-deserved place in the finals. The final took place on Saturday, where our girls faced a strong Utrecht side. Despite their determination and fighting spirit, they unfortunately went down 3-0, finishing as runners-up for the 2026 soccer season. We are incredibly proud of the team’s hard work, dedication and perseverance throughout the season. Congratulations to every player and coach on this wonderful achievement. You have represented VHS with pride!

Final academic push begins

As the sporting season draws to a close, our attention now turns to the final academic stretch of the year. Our Grade 8-11 learners will begin their year-end examinations on October 30, marking the final opportunity to showcase the knowledge and skills they have gained throughout the year.

We encourage all our learners to remain focused, manage their time wisely and give their absolute best during this important examination period.

The finish line is in sight and now is the time to make every effort count! We wish all our learners the very best as they prepare for their examinations. May your dedication, hard work and perseverance be reflected in your results.
