Dundee Country Club members are truly proud to have a fellow club member on the brink of success in the golf fraternity. Over the past weekend, Louis Albertse (Jnr) competed in the Liberty Gauteng North Open in a field of 140 golfers from around the country at Irene Country Club. After leading on the first day with a brilliant 63, Louis followed up with rounds of 75, 72 and73 to finish tied 17th place, 8 shots behind the winner, on a total of 283.

A wonderful achievement Louis, keep up the hard work. Saturday’s club competition, played in the Multiples format, attracted a mediocre field of 26 players, and winning the day was the pairing of Sifiso Kunene and Cyril Mkhwanazi on 72 points. They managed to count out the pairing of C.

They managed to count out the pairing of C. Chawanda and P. Mhlungu, who also finished with 72 points. In third place, some 13 points behind were Marc Bradbury and Lionel Shawe on 59 points. There were four players who managed to card a 2 Club, S. Kunene on No.4, L.Shawe on No.12 and both M. Bradbury and Debbie Catlett on No.8.
Debbie was enjoying her first game back in sunny SA after a month in the freezing UK. Clement Chawanda notched up 11 jackpot points to earn himself some extra cash for the evening. On a sadder note, Dundee Country Club would like to extend condolences to the family and friends of Zayne Milne who passed away last week, the loss of another keen golfer. This coming Saturday, February 6, is the Monthly Mug and the Mug of Mugs for 2015 competition. All those players who won a monthly mug in 2015 are reminded to get their names down
