Pipe bursts in Alexandra Street

Businessmen are furious to see fresh, clean water being wasted

Yet another burst pipe was spotted this morning in Alexandra Street.

Water has been running down the road ever since. uThukela workers have not yet arrived to carry out repairs.

Businessmen in the area are furious to see fresh, clean water being wasted like this.

Business owners also dread the repairs, as their water supply is cut off for the duration of the time that workers are fixing the pipe. Then there is the fear that the pipe won’t stay fixed and will simply burst again once workers have left.

“Burst pipes should be a top priority to fix due to the water issues Ladysmith is facing,” commented an upset businessman.
