BREAKING NEWS: Arbor Park business burns down

"I couldn't do anything to save my shop" - Shop owner, Basil Good.

An Arbor Park businessman was left in shock this morning, as he watched his business burn down.

According to leading firefighter, Jabu Mazibuko, Protection Services received reports of the shop burning down at around 5:30am. They immediately rushed to get the flames under control.

“We were assisted by Madadeni and oSizweni fire departments,” he said.

Shop owner of Good-Enuff, Basil Good, said when he was notified of the alarm going off, he thought someone was robbing his store, and immediately rushed to the scene.

“I got there and all I saw was flames. I did not know what to do; I was in utter shock. I mean, I couldn’t even do anything to save my shop because there were bottles exploding,” said a distraught Mr Good.

He emotionally explained further. “I watched 41 years of hard work collapse in front of me.”

An eyewitness described the tragedy:

“All we heard were explosions. We ran outside to see what was going on and then we saw the flames. We felt helpless and all we could do was stand and watch as the building crumbled. We have been using this store for years and now in a blink of an eye, it was gone.”

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, and police and forensic investigations will follow.
