The art of painting with pain
They have a variety of coloured paintballs, ready to shoot at their opposition
Cousins and best friends Quinton Gunter and Nick Moolman just love paintball.
25 year-old Quinton is a member of the Ladysmith Paintball Team and plays matches with his friends over weekends or whenever he has the time.
Quinton was introduced to the sport at the age of 18 by his friend Ryan Bouwer and it wasn’t long before he was hooked.
They would play regularly at Hill 52 in the Drakensberg.
“I really enjoy this sport. “Not only is it a good workout, but it’s also a great sport in which to socialise and have good, dirty fun,” smiles Quinton.26-year-old Nick Moolman is a member of a paintball team called ‘Team Chaos’.
It’s been a year now that he has been involved in the sport and he enjoys every second of it.Both men have three different types of guns which they use in their paintball warfare.
C. Not to mention the masks they wear for safety reasons.
These cousins are always ready to get geared up for a hard-fought encounter that usually results in plenty of bruises.But then again, those are just the battle scars they can show off to friends.
“I play paintball every weekend, and I look forward to the great company and competitive matches every time,” says Nick.
If you didn’t know, paintball technology is also used by military forces, law enforcement, para-military and security organisations to supplement military training, as well as playing a role in riot response, and non-lethal suppression of dangerous suspects. Games can be played on indoor or outdoor fields of varying sizes.
A game field is scattered with natural or artificial terrain, which players use for tactical cover.
