Macfarlane Street ready for a clean-up
A team made up of both UThukela District and Umtshezi Municipality staff was dispatched to clean up the area recently
A foul stench, buzzing flies, discarded litter and overflowing drains are just some of the many health hazards Macfarlane Street residents experience daily.
Locals grew concerned about their health after notifying the relevant departments numerous times without any assistance.
A team made up of both UThukela District and Umtshezi Municipality staff was dispatched to clean up the area recently.
“Our team has been working in the area in question and have identified the root cause of the problem, which will be attended to by the uThukela District Municipality team prior to Umtshezi Local Municipality finalising the issues resulting in the blocked drains,” said Umtshezi’s Acting Municipal Manager Elphas Dladla.
Macfarlane Street residents welcome the clean up and look forward to a healthy and safe environment.
