Sisters who own hedgehog sisters

One does not need a permit for these little guys

Chanli and Nanette Liebenberg are two sisters who have taken a liking to exotic animals.

These two ladies have seven pets in total, two of them being hedgehogs. Nanette is a hairdresser and Chanli is busy studying for teaching and beauty therapy. They decided they wanted hedgehogs three years ago, and in October 2013 they were able to get two hedgehogs (sisters born on May 1) from a breeder in Pinetown.

Their first pets were a cat and a dog. Their father saved ‘Cam the Chameleon’ from his work and the girls just couldn’t say no to also having him as a pet. Their Siamese cat, Mia, really dislikes the camera and 7kg cat Lovey is extremely lazy. They have two Yorkies, the older one named Zani and 12-week-old pup Reece.

Nanette says she’s not done yet and hopes to soon get a Sphinx cat, as these hairless cats fascinate her.

The sisters love their hedgehogs, Hallie and Gracyn so much they even sleep with them. They put them into a bag called a bonding sack so the spiky creatures can’t hurt them.

One does not need a permit for these little guys. They say they wanted the hedgehogs because they are different, exotic and what you see is what you get. It is a plus that the two hedgehogs are actual sisters…
